The healing effect of music
Music seems to have strong correlation to our well being. Even plants benefit from exposing to music. There’s even a bestseller book called Musicophilia that talks about the effect of music on physical well being. Our mood altering experience with music shows how much music influences us positively – or negatively (if the music is not what we like).
Recently I didn’t listen to nice music for days and I felt quite “stagnant”. Then I noticed that my mood changed instantly when I close my eyes and listen to nice music. It’s so uplifting, just like getting a glass of cold water on a hot day. I would recommend listening to at least a few nice songs every day. It’s so good to the soul.
It’s a good idea to make a “cocktail” of music by mixing various kinds of music in a playlist to achieve desired “healing” effect. I love to listen to Sarah Brightman’s angelic voice that makes me feel like floating in heaven, and a bit of Enya’s mellow voice to make me stay grounded. Then I listen to Kitaro’s spiritual masterpiece, before moving on to Yanni’s romantic instrumental melody (surprisingly, these two men look alike).
What’s your favourite music cocktail?

Yes, music definitely has an effect on our health and mind. According to Dr Masaru Emoto, different types of music will have different effects on water in his book “The Hidden Messages In Water”. This would mean it will affect us as we are 70% water. Read about it at my post here : )
