Today bb, the blogger who manages the blog mylongkang.com, gave me an award. He has been reading many Malaysian and Singaporean blogs and out of so many of them, he has chosen The Wise Curve as the deserving award winner. I am surprised and happy to receive such an honour. Thank you bb!

Receiving such recognition is really motivating for a blogger like me. I have put a lot of effort in blogging. Each post is like a piece of artwork, which requires me to invest time and energy to create (except for Tiny Tidbits column). A blog post is just like a film, once it is published to the world, people will be reading it for many years, that is why it is important for me to present my articles as near to perfection as possible.

According to the tradition of this blog award, I have to choose 7 blogs that I sincerely feel deserve the blog award. After reading through many blogs in Malaysian and Singaporean blogspheres, these are the blogs that I recognize as the best blogs, from my point of view:

KCLau’s Personal Finance Money Tips

This blog presents a lot of information about personal finance, where I can learn a lot about saving money, mutual fund investing, retirement planning etc. It is a hidden gem in Malaysian blogsphere. The layout is comfortable and user friendly. KCLau is a helpful blogger and quite down to earth.

Sheylara’s The sometimes damsel in distress

This blog is surprisingly nice to read. Sheylara is a multi talented Singaporean girl who lives an interesting life. Her blog is very substantial and entertaining, which is not a surprise since she is a certified pro writer. Her Gamer Girl Friday column is very lengthy but super entertaining just like watching TV. The blog layout is superb and the blogger is very interactive, responding to almost every comment, and sometimes giving free goodies to her readers. Most importantly, she is a very charming person.  ^_^

Robb’s SotongZai’s flow in the ocean

This Malaysian blogger openly admit his homosexuality on is blog, which is considered a brave act in a conservative country like Malaysia. He posts a lot of pictures of sexy guys to torture straight guys entertain gays and girls. Some of his stories are quite nice tto read. In real life he is an intellectual guy who loves to mix around with other bloggers.

Kenny Sia’s Kennysia.com

I have been reading his blog for years. It is entertaining, funny and comfortable to read. His blog posts have a balance of words and funny pictures and his blog layout changes from time to time. Unlike other popular bloggers, Kenny is quite nice and does not like to play blog wars.

Raja Petra’s No Holds Barred (Malaysia Today)

This is a major political blog in Malaysia. Although the topics RPK blogs about are dead serious, he manages to add humour to his writings. It is one of the best written political blogs that I have read.

Hokkienlang’s Wa Si Hokkien Lang

This is a unique Malaysian blog written in Hokkien (a local Chinese dialect) with  Roman alphabets. It is really funny to read but sadly, it is now idle

Bb’s mylongkang.com

The blog posts are quite thought provoking and I like to join the blog discussion. That’s why I visit this blog quite often. The layout and concept of this blog is quite interesting.
